Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their automotive service needs are met with professionalism and expertise. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and the ability to effectively communicate with both customers and service technicians. The Service Advisor will play a crucial role in enhancing customer satisfaction while driving sales through upselling services and products. Pay is commission based.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their service needs.
- Conduct thorough consultations to understand customer concerns and recommend appropriate services.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics knowledge to provide accurate information regarding vehicle issues.
- Prepare detailed service estimates for repairs, including oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, and other maintenance tasks.
- Write clear and concise service orders for technicians, ensuring all necessary information is communicated effectively.
- Upsell additional services based on vehicle condition and customer needs while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any further questions or concerns.
- Maintain an organized workspace and ensure all customer interactions are documented accurately in the system.
- Collaborate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of services while maintaining quality standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar role within an automotive dealership is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair processes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.
- Proven upselling skills with a focus on enhancing customer experience.
- Familiarity with auto-estimating software and service writing processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- A strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service and building lasting relationships.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional automotive certifications are a plus.
