Position Description :

Based at our Farm Bureau location in Manhattan, Kansas, this position involves the behind-the-scenes actions related to all aspects of the organization. The Internal Communications Coordinator is responsible for creating, maintaining, and releasing internal communication strategies within KS StateBank, ensuring employees are informed about company news, training opportunities, updates, and initiatives through various channels. This person will also aim to maintain a positive company culture and high employee engagement by delivering timely and relevant messages aligned with the company's vision and values, and collaborate with different departments to gather content and coordinate communication efforts across the organization.

The person in this position will need to have the ability to work well independently, but also act in a collaborative setting as part of the team.

We currently have a full-time position available Monday through Friday, 8 : 00AM to 4 : 30PM. Wages start at $24.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities :

Cultural Understanding

Collaborate with manager and supervisors to produce smart, powerful work that meets and supports departmental objectives

Create messages and communications that are impactful, accurate, and optimized for maximum connection and meaningful engagement

Ensure proper alignment with the organizations overall values, brand, and strategic objectives throughout created content that supports the organizations intent and message across various mediums (written, speaking, video, etc.)

Take ownership of content deliverables for internal clients across channels, maintaining a consistent voice

Gather and assess feedback from all levels in the organization regarding concerns, areas of improvement, successes, and highlights

Content Creation

Assist with business needs assigned to the Training & Organizational Development team : the update and new development of intranet pages; the update and creation of supporting materials; instructional video production; expansion of training resources into various departments

Contribute to creation of video content plans that meet client objectives, including managing all aspects from pre- through post-production : shooting (operating all video & audio equipment, lighting set-up); editing; sound mixing; etc. Edit and proofread written pieces before publication.

Organize and execute projects and tasks from conception to completion by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline and project adherence this includes internal requirements and requests, as well as future projects as they arise

Ensure content conforms to the company's brand standards and time-frame expectations

Edit video and or printed content, either originally created or built by someone else, into prescribed delivery formats to meet internal client expectations and requirements

Effective Communication

Positively promote engagement activities and initiatives to employees bank-wide through effective communication and the creation of educational and supportive materials

Develop a well-rounded knowledge of all bank departments. Understand how each department affects, or is affected by, other departments in the bank in order to increase communication and promote knowledge throughout the organization.

Serve as an information steward and brand advocate for the company and its leadership team by curating, editing, and strategically delivering content across multiple communications platforms

Capable of adapting content and delivery based upon reception, success of implementation, and changes in industry standards

Use public speaking, presentation, and story-telling skills to deliver written and video content and materials in an interesting, logical, structured, and engaging manner that also complies with the organizational brands tone of voice. Most of the responsibilities for this position will take place behind-the-scenes, through writing, or on video, though there may be times where this person will need to host in-person training sessions and present live to an audience

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities :

High School Graduate or GED required; Associates or undergraduate degree preferred. Successful completion of post-secondary courses, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in marketing, journalism, or related fields is helpful but not required.

Previous banking experience, especially as related to training others, and experience in creating engaging content is preferred

Successful experience in public speaking, drama, voice-overs, and / or debate strongly preferred

Technical Abilities

Has or is able to obtain knowledge and familiarity with the following software programs : Jack Henry and related systems; Camtasia video editing program; and Microsoft Office Suite (such as Word; PowerPoint; Excel; Publisher; and Outlook)

Capable of attempting to troubleshoot technical issues before calling IT for assistance

Will need to become familiar with presenting information in a variety of formats : via video; online via internal Intranet; telephone; and in-person

Uses good judgment when sharing information and maintains confidentiality

Able to assist with the fundamental implementation of organizational platform (system) changes

Critical Thinking

Identifies patterns and trends from experiences that relate to a current situation and uses that knowledge to come up with creative solutions and new ideas

Creates, or assists in creating, materials for departments, including new products, to provide bank-wide training

Physical Requirements :

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Able to view a computer screen for long periods of time

Must be able to speak and listen clearly both in person and on the phone

Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy

This job may require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently
