Position Description:
The Teller (Retail) Banker Team Lead position assumes a comprehensive responsibility in assisting the Retail Manager with the effective and efficient operation of a branch in accordance with bank policies and legal requirements. Tellers are the face of the Bank, focused on building quality relationships and protecting the financial security of our clients.

This is a full-time position; Monday through Friday, 7:45AM to 4:15PM, working 40 hours per week. Wages start at $19.00-22.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities:
Responsible to the Retail Manager for the fulfillment of managerial duties, responsibilities, authority and their proper interpretations
Represent the Bank to the customer in a courteous and professional manner
Must have effective communication skills with employees as well as customers
Provide prompt, efficient and accurate service in the processing of transactions
Perform all retail banker functions including: processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and check cashing on a daily basis
Assist retail bankers with more complex tasks, approve exception transactions, as needed
Assist the retail manager with the following duties:
o Performance and/or delegation of vault duties including auditing, reporting and/or balancing
o Currency levels, prepare and track shipments and deliver of currency
o Performance and/or delegation of ATM duties including balancing, deposits, auditing and reporting
o Staff scheduling (ensuring there is sufficient staffing to provide sufficient service levels as needed)
o Daily branch reconciliations
o Ensure retail bankers are efficiently trained while complying with all regulators and security policies and procedures
o New retail banker training (provide follow-up training as needed to maintain efficient levels)
o Report any retail banker offages per cash control policy
Open branch using proper procedures including: activating security clearance, opening vault and ensuring retail bankers are ready to assist customers
Close branch using proper procedures including: activating alarm, closing vault and preparing building for the next business day
Ensure all customers (both in the lobby and drive-thru) receive prompt and friendly service
Assist with preparing monthly branch reports (audit)
Accountable for complying with all Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering regulations, bank policies and procedures
Contribute to the development of processes and procedures for efficiency
Open new deposit accounts including personal and business checking, savings and CD's
Assist Retail Banker, Retail Manager and/or Cash Management Officers with new account activities
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High School Graduate or GED required; Associates or undergraduate degree preferred.
One to two years of prior banking experience preferred
Demonstrate sound judgement while identifying and analyzing problems rapidly -Work with minimal supervision while performing duties
Current driver's license and a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities
Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and communicate effectively with staff, internal and external clients
Effective communication and negotiation skills necessary for successful customer interactions
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Intermediate skills in personal computer operation and office software productivity tools
Intermediate math skills with the ability to calculate interest, proportions, ratios and percents
Intermediate sales and/or marketing experience
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Able to view a computer screen for long periods of time
Must be able to speak and listen clearly both in person and on the phone
Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy
This job may require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently
