Position Overview: The Exercise Planner will support the Marine Corps Installations Command (MCICOM) G-5 Directorate by coordinating, developing, and executing strategic, operational, and contingency plans related to exercises and force deployments. This role requires close collaboration with Marine Forces Commands, Joint Forces Headquarters, and external agencies to ensure the successful execution of MCICOM's exercise planning initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:
Exercise Planning & Coordination
o Plan, organize, and execute exercises in support of Combatant Commanders and Joint Forces Headquarters.
o Coordinate logistics, resources, and personnel for training exercises and deployments.
o Develop and refine exercise planning documentation, including Planning Orders (PLANORDs), Operations Orders (OPORDs), and Letters of Instruction (LOIs).
o Assist in the planning of National Special Security Events (NSSEs) and other operational deployments.
o Capture MCICOM requirements during Force Synchronization Conferences and provide analytical support.
Policy & Documentation Support
- Conduct reviews and recommend updates to exercise-related policies, orders, and directives.
- Draft and manage official messages, reports, and after-action reviews (AARs).
- Ensure compliance with Global Force Management requirements and maintain Force Management Tool updates.
Conference & Meeting Coordination
- Organize and facilitate pre-event planning, on-site coordination, and post-event activities for inter-agency conferences, workshops, and meetings.
- Develop meeting agendas, track action items, and document outcomes.
Requirements
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree Required
- Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Experience: 4-10 years of experience in exercise planning, force deployment coordination, or related military operations.
- Prior experience with military planning processes, operational planning, and joint exercise coordination preferred.
- Knowledge of DoD and Marine Corps planning directives and tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and planning tools.
- Prior military experience or experience supporting DoD contracts is a plus.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Previous Experience in DoD work or supporting the Marine Corps.
