Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist compiles and maintains accounts payable records.
Essential Job Functions:
As our Accounts Payable Specialist, you'll be playing a crucial role in managing and processing payments to vendors and suppliers on behalf of Charles E. Gillman Company, ensuring efficient and timely payment of bills.
Responsibilities:
- Enter invoice details into the accounting systems and allocate expenses to appropriate accounts or purchase orders
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to address inquiries and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and process payment batches, including checks, electronic transfers, and other payment methods
- Monitor payment deadlines and resolve any outstanding invoices or payment delays
- Assists other groups as needed
Requirements:
- Well organized and a self-starter
- Be detail oriented and have a professional attitude
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Able to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- ERP experience a plus
Education and Certifications:
- High school diploma required
- College courses in accounting preferred
- 2 years of Accounts Payable experience preferred
- Open to training the right candidate who demonstrates potential and a strong willingness to learn
