Duties (Brief description of the principal task involved): Repair and maintenance of all kinds of plant and machinery (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical) such as conventional and automatic casting machines, robots, sprayers, heating and cooling units, CNC machinery and other peripheral devices or supply installations and provide direct oversight to maintenance technicians. |
Description of activities (List of all key tasks/processes carried out): - The Maintenance Supervisor shall oversee the daily operation of the maintenance department. Setting up work assignments, following up on all equipment repairs, seeing the work is being performed properly and timely. Will need to setup and follow a PM schedule for all equipment.
- Should be able to review all work completed items, assist with setting up and finding the root cause of breakdowns or repairs. Putting together a root cause analysis report and training document for all such items.
- Will work with all Production Supervisors on any problems they may be having on a daily basis and also making sure all their maintenance concerns are taken care of in a timely matter.
- Follow up on any parts that are needed to keep equipment running making sure they are ordered. Help in maintaining a proper inventory of all spare parts, help in reviewing all spare parts on hand and help build proper spare parts inventory for all equipment.
- The Maintenance Supervisor shall oversee all maintenance employees, will have to be able to direct them all and perform disciplinary action when needed. Will need to approve any schedule time off for employees making sure that the proper coverage is there to run the plant.
- Will need to assist the Maintenance Manager in performing reviews of all employees and help with setting up training plans for all employees.
- The Maintenance Supervisor will need to work with the Maintenance Manager to review and make sure that all the KPI’s setup for the maintenance department are being met. After reviewing the KPI any adjustments that may be needed will be discussed at this time to help make corrections.
- The Maintenance Supervisor will also make sure all the employees are working safely and following all safety rules and regulations.
- The Maintenance Supervisor will be required to attend all daily production meetings and any meeting that he will be needed in requiring maintenance support. The supervisor will need to be prepared to answer questions asked and be able to report back if he/she doesn’t have the information at the time.
- In the absence of the Maintenance Manager, he/she will need to be able to step in and perform the duties of the manager in his absence.
- Will be on call when problems occur to help with employees getting equipment back up and running, this may also happen after their scheduled hrs. The Maintenance Supervisor also may be required to work some weekend or different shifts when needed.
- The Maintenance Supervisor will be meeting daily with the Maintenance Manager to review work performed in the past shifts keeping the Manager up to date on any concerns that may affect the operation of the Maintenance Department or Production needs.
- Responsible for identifying Environmental Aspects for his/her department and supporting Environmental Management Plan (EMP) goals and targets through training, engagement and communication.
