RESPONSIBILITIES
Our client is seeking an Assistant Controller for our aerospace fastener plant in La Porte, In. The Assistant Controller supports the Plant Controller. This role is within the largest BU of our client's organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Perform as a Cost Accountant on a day-to-day basis. Assist and oversee the General Accounting functions such as fixed assets, inter-company accounting and financial reporting
- Assist in financial, internal and governmental audits
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly operations package
- Review/Perform account reconciliations
- Participate/back-up for payroll processing, Non Financial Indicators and the checkbook
- Business unit/corporate requests
- Perform the financial closing for the Torrance operation
- Support management financial requests for information through detail analysis and reporting
- Drive the operating budget process
- Assist controller in forecasting/budgeting as needed
- Work in the safe manner that promotes the health and well-being of the individual and the environment.
- Comply with all EHS rules and regulations and supervisory instructions
- Report all incidents including injuries, spills, fires, property damage, and near misses to their supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, preferred in Finance or Business discipline
- Minimum of 7 years directly related work experience - standard cost system and manufacturing; preferred aerospace experience
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility is required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITRA defines U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen U.S. Permanent Resident (ie. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CMA preferred
- Some supervisory experience
- QAD/MFG Pro/Oracle experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suites
