We are looking for an Ophthalmic Technician that can accurately and efficiently perform an extensive number of functions as delegated by the physician to allow for proper professional diagnosis of patient’s conditions and to do so in a way that instills patient confidence in the treatment.
Hours: 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday through Friday. Potential for a Saturday morning one time a month.
This position involves traveling between our locations (Philadelphia and Bala Cynwyd).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Patient Care
Perform and document subjective and objective ophthalmic testing efficiently to provide basic and extensive information necessary for ophthalmic examinations.
This includes but is not limited to (we are willing to train the right candidates):
- History, visual acuities, lensometry, refractometry, keratometry, refractions, visual fields, tonometry, assisting with office procedures, perform contact lens (insertion & removal), triage, medication refills and prior authorizations.
- Open and close exam rooms, ensure all equipment is clean and ready for the doctor; stock all necessary supplies.
- Inform patients of the purpose of all tests personally performed and how they will be affected during the tests.
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of equipment
- Support clinic team and perform all other duties as assigned
Communication
- Interact with Managers, MD's, OD's and other members of our team
REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferably Certified as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Tech (not required)
- Optician or any Ophthalmic/Optometric experience encouraged to apply
- Will train the right candidate
