About Us:
Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union is a not-for-profit, Member-owned, and locally operated financial institution serving the financial needs of its communities of Membership. We have 25 locations throughout East Tennessee and we serve more than 287,000 Members. The Credit Union helps Members grow financially by offering a variety of accounts including: checking, savings and investments. Also offered are competitive loan rates on new and used autos and recreational vehicles, mortgages, personal loans and credit cards.
JOB SUMMARY:
Assist in the general promotion of the Credit Union and its services to members and potential members by soliciting prospective membership groups, developing community awareness, and participating in various community events. Build and maintain strong member relationships by providing prompt, accurate and courteous service when assisting members.
**Must currently be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student. A major in Business with a concentration in Human Resources preferred; Juniors or Seniors majoring in Business Administration will also be considered. Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to be stated on resume.**
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Business Development Staff with planning events and business development.
Conduct assigned business visits, including new business visits with Business Development Staff
Assist in developing relationships with designated employer groups to increase Credit Union awareness and membership.
Promote Credit Union products and services to educate and meet member’s needs.
Learn Credit Union products and promotions.
Document visit and hours accurately. Sponsorships, business visits, community events, association meetings should all be documented separately.
Assist in coordinating giveaway needs and other promotional materials with Marketing by utilizing the Marketing Department’s established order system.
Assist with maintaining periodic contact with all membership groups to maintain enrollment of new hires, supply them with necessary promotional materials and identify any service problems.
Assist with follow-up on all group accounts to ensure quality member service.
Assist in maintaining listings, records and current contact persons for all employee groups. Survey groups and members to continually monitor service provided.
Assist in contacting employee groups as needed.
STUDENT INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the student intern enters the Credit Union, they are expected to assume, as much as possible, the role of a regular staff member. The responsibilities include:
- Adhering to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior. Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Work cooperatively with others.
- Adhering to Credit Union policies governing the observation of confidentiality and the handling of confidential information. Assuming personal and professional responsibilities for his/her actions and activities.
- Maintaining professional relationships with Credit Union employees, members and so forth.
- Utilizing a courteous, enthusiastic, open-minded, critical approach to policies and procedures within the profession.
- Relating and applying knowledge acquired in the academic setting to the Credit Union setting.
- Developing a self-awareness regarding attitudes, values, behavior patterns, and so forth that influence work.
- Being consistent and punctual in the submission of all work assignments to the supervisor and faculty coordinator.
- Providing Marketing Management team with periodic progress reports.
Standards:
Follow all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulations.
Represent the Credit Union in a professional manner (including but not limited to appearance, behavior, and performance).
