Indian Creek ASC is seeking an Inventory Specialist with a diverse skillset. The Inventory Specialist reports to the Materials Manager and assists with the day-to-day supply chain activities in the surgery center. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for assisting with the entire inventory process including placement of orders with vendors, receiving supply and equipment orders, and verification, storage and distribution of supplies. The Inventory Specialist must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Completing demands require someone who is able to appropriately prioritize tasks and demonstrate attention to detail. The Inventory Specialist is required to demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with teammates, physicians, ancillary staff, vendors and patients. The Inventory Specialist will cross-train to other areas of the surgery center as needed.
Indian Creek Ambulatory Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art ASC jointly owned by the University of Kansas Health System and physician investors. Indian Creek ASC has 7 operating rooms, 2 procedure rooms and 4 pain rooms. We provide patients with services in Orthopedics, General Surgery, ENT, GI and Pain. ICC ASC is a fast-paced, high volume outpatient surgery center that provides exceptional care to surgical patients. Teammates of Indian Creek ASC are employed by Surgical Care Affiliates, LLC.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Responsible for maintaining current replenishment processes; forecasting, generating purchase orders, submitting/confirming/updating order confirmations.
• Communicates backorder/recall information to all necessary parties.
• Responsible for verification of daily deliveries and accuracy of packing slips.
• Monitoring of damaged goods and coordinating returns as necessary.
• Updates and maintain accurate records within the HST system.
• Documents receipts, errors, shorts, recalls, and damaged goods on invoices.
• Responsible for reviewing and processing invoices with purchase orders and packing slips.
• Maintains and monitors inventory levels and organization of supplies.
• Ensure supply locations are left in neat and orderly fashion.
• Responsible for having a working knowledge of supplies/equipment.
• Assist in equipment management/repairs – shipping/receiving/storage.
• Maintains inventory accuracy within the range of 5% (-/ ).
• Maintains accurate filing system of all related documents.
• Coordinates recalls for assigned stock/equipment within the organization as necessary.
• Maintains current “Outdate” processes.
• Will assist management with scheduled physical inventories.
• Maintains processes for Medline Renewal Program.
• Assists with daily completion of patient charges.
• Work with all departments to achieve company goals.
• May be required to perform additional tasks as assigned by Administration/Management.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
• Full range of body motion
• Hand eye coordination
• Intermittent physical mobility/activity including walking, standing, sitting light lifting, pushing
and pulling of carts. Must be able to bend body downward at the waist, be able to kneel.
• Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Corrected vision and hearing to within normal range
Required experience/skills/education
High school diploma or GED required; college or technical school preferred
Minimum of 2 years experience in a healthcare supply chain required: extensive knowledge of anesthesia and orthopedic supplies highly preferred
