What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sterile Processing Technologist position at KU MedWest Ambulatory Surgery?
Indian Creek ASC is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technologist with a diverse skillset. The Sterile processing Technologist assists the surgical team in multiple ways. The SPD Tech is responsible for the cleaning and sterilization of critical surgical and procedural instruments, preparing and maintaining supplies, equipment and instruments for cases, competency in sterile processing policies and procedures, compliance with HIPAA and other assigned duties. The SPD Tech must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Competing demands require someone who is able to appropriately prioritize tasks and demonstrate attention to detail. This person is required to demonstrate excellent communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with teammates, physicians, ancillary staff, and patients. The Sterile Processing Technologist reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager and will cross-train to other functions as needed.
Indian Creek Ambulatory Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art ASC, jointly owned by the University of Kansas Health System and physician investors. Indian Creek ASC has 7 operating rooms and 6 procedure rooms enabling us to provide patients with services in Orthopedics, General Surgery, ENT, GI and Pain. Required experience/skills/education:
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 2 years as Sterile Processing Technologist (Preferred)
Certification in Sterile Processing (Preferred)
