Description of Position
Responsible for monitoring of patients before, during, and after cardiac procedures. Applies the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating plans of care for assigned patients, following established standards of nursing practice as delineated by Medical Center. Works collaboratively with cardiologists, Catheterization Laboratory staff, and all other members of the healthcare team.
Qualifications and Requirements
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Hawaii required. Requires minimum two (2) years RN experience in critical care, cardiology or emergency services. Certification or one (1) year experience in cardiac catheterization preferred; or any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position. Requires current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), with recertification once every two years.
