This role will collaborate with various departments to align purchasing decisions with company goals, establish long-term vendor relationships, and streamline procurement processes. This position also includes managing package receiving and distribution, as well as coordinating pickups from local vendors.

Position Overview
The Purchasing Specialist will oversee and manage purchasing activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. This role will collaborate with various departments to align purchasing decisions with company goals, establish long-term vendor relationships, and streamline procurement processes. This position also includes managing package receiving and distribution, as well as coordinating pickups from local vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and maintain accurate records of all purchases, deliveries, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand purchasing needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Compare pricing, negotiating costs, and obtain competitive quotes from vendors.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality and cost-efficiency.
- Review invoices for accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Develop and implement purchasing-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Manage the receiving and distribution of packages and coordinate pickup of purchases from local vendors (e.g., Home Depot, Lowe's, etc).
- Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain purchasing records for audit purposes.
- Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities described above is qualifying.
- An associate degree in business or a related field is preferred.
- 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and familiarity with inventory or procurement software.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- Full-time; open availability, including occasional weekends, may be required.
