Position Summary
Safely and efficiently supports and leads team members on weld shop processes utilizing strong leadership, communication skills, training aids and on the job training techniques.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Understand and utilizes job distribution to balance available manpower based on team member’s qualifications and skill set.
· Perform root cause analysis (using 5-Why, fishbone diagram, PDCA) and develops corrective actions regarding safety concerns, quality issues, assembly down time, etc.
· Knowledge of all safety procedures and the ability to effectively communicate and enforce these procedures.
· Read and interpret performance charts and graphs relating to safety, quality and productivity.
· Effectively issue Quality Alerts and resolve any Quality problem.
· Actively supports the development of all team members within the assembly team.
· Utilize time studies to create, implement, and follow up on Kaizen activities.
· Lead department layout changes for new models. For example: Job Distribution, Cycle Times, Part Distribution, Part Location, etc.
· Understand, utilizes and trains co-workers on the 5-Gen principle process.
· Be able to perform Supervisory duties in the absence of a Supervisor.
· Administers system for 5S compliance, teaches and instructs others to adhere to requirements.
· Understand, comply and lead others in support of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
· Performs special projects as requested and related tasks as needed.
Essential Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma and/or GED
- English language competency and legible writing ability
- Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work with little to no oversight.
- Experience in coaching and teaching others.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Previous Welding/Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
- Extensive knowledge of Kubota products and assembly process
- Experience working with AS400 system
- Basic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills

Physical Requirements

In addition, the team member must occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
