JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Shop Manager will oversee and manage the daily workflow of all shop/field employees. You will be responsible for supervising a team of mechanics, ensuring that work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manage and oversee the performance of all mechanics to ensure proper daily operations.
· Provide leadership for all mechanics and instill a team approach.
· Ensure that all direct reports meet the goals and objectives set out in the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and plans are in place to reach these goals.
· Maintain budgets and shop costs: Parts, Labor, Outside services, Inventory, shop Labor and over time.
· Maintenance Targets: indirect vs direct time, Door calls, rework and truck failures.
· Safety: Encourage new safety rule, have safety meetings.
· Conduct monthly safety meetings with field employees at various locations to ensure company policies are practiced and being enforced.
· Develop best practices and manage.
· Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Thorough understanding of the Concrete Ready-Mix industry.
· Organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency.
· Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
EDUCATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
· Experience in related field preferred. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to traverse worksites in different types of weather and bend, climb, stretch, reach, and lean to make inspections.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs alone and team lift up to 100lbs.
· Moderate typing and other related computer operations.
· Ability to operate phone and radio systems.
· Ability to tolerate stand, bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects for extended periods of time.
