Intermodal Dispatcher

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule transportation for freight deliveries using GPS and transportation management systems.
• Monitor shipments in real-time to ensure timely delivery and address any issues that may arise.
• Analyze data related to transportation planning and supply chain efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates and resolve any concerns.
• Utilize Oracle Transportation Management software for data entry and tracking of shipments.
• Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities and ensure compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in dispatching or a related field within the transportation industry is preferred.
• Strong skills in data entry and familiarity with Oracle Transportation Management software.
• Knowledge of transportation planning processes and supply chain logistics.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficient in using GPS technology and transportation management systems to optimize routes and improve efficiency.
• Ability to analyze data effectively to make informed decisions regarding freight management.
• Oversees DOT compliance and reporting as it relates to the fleet.
• Maintain electronic databases of sales, registration, inspections and maintenance of fleet management.
• Perform vehicle registration, insurance and documentation regarding induction of new vehicles in existing fleet.
• Develops and implements vehicle and equipment preventive maintenance programs.
• Develops and maintains outside vendor and service provider relationships.
• Monitor and ensure fleet operation in compliance with local and state rules and regulations.
• Streamline and monitor fuel purchase system with assistance of Fuel Cards for all vehicles and drivers.
• Facilitate and implement corrective actions and capacity building to manage entire fleet to achieve company objectives.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.
• Experience :
• 5 Yrs experience dispatching (Intermodal)
• 2- 3 Yrs of recent dispatching experience (Intermodal)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
