Seasonal Park Ranger

Job Overview
As a Park Ranger, you will play a vital role in preserving and protecting natural resources while ensuring the safety and enjoyment of park visitors. This position requires a passion for the outdoors, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage various tasks related to park maintenance and visitor services. You will engage with the public, enforce park regulations, and contribute to the overall conservation efforts within the park.

Duties

• Monitor park activities and enforce regulations to ensure visitor safety.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors with information about park features, trails, and wildlife.
• Conduct landscape maintenance including trail upkeep, vegetation management, and habitat restoration.
• Utilize GPS technology for navigation and mapping purposes.
• Perform routine maintenance on park facilities and equipment using hand tools.
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as necessary.
• Manage conflicts among visitors or between visitors and wildlife effectively.
• Participate in law enforcement duties as required, ensuring compliance with all local laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
• Experience or certification in first aid is preferred.
• Familiarity with GPS technology for navigation within park areas.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks associated with landscape maintenance.
• Knowledge of conflict management techniques to handle disputes or issues that may arise in the park setting.
• Previous experience in law enforcement or security is a plus but not mandatory.
• A passion for nature conservation and outdoor activities is essential.
