Are you thinking about advancing your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne Nagel, our Torrance, CA location is looking for a new Operations Process Specialist to join our Customs Brokerage team.
Your Role
Reporting to the Area Customs Brokerage Manager you will align with brokerage goals to improve the process, productivity, and risk reduction. You will analyze our current process and implement improvements. You will also be responsible for documenting the new process, training, and Customer setup.
Your Responsibilities
- Implement and promote File Opening
- Implement and promote Imaging when applicable.
- Implement and promote Monthly Imaging of entry summary packets for clients
- Implement and promote ICC service (Invoice Key-in) where applicable
- Implement Northern Border Shared Service Center (NBSC) onboarding where applicable
- Review and update ISF process
- Support Price Increase initiative for all clients.
- Setup Client Rates, auto-billing, auto-send billing packets to clients from Cargowise
- Support moving all clients to their own ACH and / or set them for PMS.
- Align with the implementation team and perfect onboarding process for new and current clients
- Develop a process for client profile setup with Brokers Classification database and adding Parts-on-the-Fly.
- Sit with each staff / Branch, record and analyze the as-is process to help identify areas for improvement.
- Assess gaps and risks to Customs Brokerage Operations.
- Collaborate with other areas and bring best practices to the West Area.
- Obtain available certifications in Cargowise to understand the full system capabilities.
- Promote and maintain myKN content for client SOPs and general brokerage information.
- Become an expert in Tableau and its benefit to Customs Brokerage and its clients.
Your Skills and Experiences
1 year of extensive knowledge of Cargowise : Set up Organizations, Databases, Reports, entry processing and automation.
Extensive knowledge of Partner Government Agency requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications : Excel, OneNote and Projects
Aim to achieve Certified Customs Specialist – CCS
Extensive communication and trainer skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate with other departments

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
