Kuhns Equipment, an authorized AGCO equipment dealer, is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Part Counter Employee to join our team. The Part Counter Employee will be responsible for assisting customers, including farmers, technicians, and other agricultural professionals, in identifying, locating, and purchasing genuine AGCO parts and accessories. This role requires strong knowledge of agricultural equipment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to support our customers’ operational needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers at the parts counter, over the phone, or via email with professionalism and courtesy.
- Identify and source genuine AGCO parts using parts catalogs, electronic systems, and technical manuals.
- Provide accurate pricing, availability, and delivery information for parts and accessories.
- Process sales transactions, including cash, credit, and account payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with dealership policies.
- Collaborate with service technicians to fulfill parts requests for equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked parts counter area, including restocking shelves and updating displays as needed.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving shipments, verifying part numbers, and updating inventory records.
- Handle special orders, backorders, and returns efficiently, keeping customers informed of status updates.
- Stay informed about AGCO equipment models, updates, and new product lines to provide knowledgeable support.
- Resolve customer inquiries or issues promptly, escalating complex matters to the Parts Manager when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in agriculture or mechanics is a plus.
- Previous experience in parts sales, customer service, or a related field, preferably in the agricultural or equipment industry.
- Familiarity with AGCO agricultural machinery and brands is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using parts lookup software, inventory systems, and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate order processing and inventory tracking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn about agricultural equipment components.
- Valid driver’s license is required for occasional deliveries or errands.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move parts or boxes up to 50 lbs.
- Standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods in a retail and warehouse environment.
