The Kuik Run Store is hiring an Operations Manager for our site in Aniak, AK. As the Kuik Run Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our retail establishment. You will oversee day-to-day activities, providing guidance, support, and leadership to ensure exceptional customer service and maximize sales. Your responsibilities include managing staff schedules, training new employees, resolving customer issues, and maintaining store cleanliness and organization.
Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)
Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead and motivate retail staff to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service.
- Provide ongoing training and coaching to ensure staff members are knowledgeable about products, services, and sales techniques.
- Set performance goals for individual team members and monitor progress.
- As a store leader proper attendance is mandatory.
Staff Management:
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and optimize labor costs.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance staff performance.
- Address disciplinary issues promptly and fairly, following company policies and procedures.
Customer Service:
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service and resolving customer complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all staff members are knowledgeable about products and services and can effectively assist customers with inquiries and purchases.
Store Operations:
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times.
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures related to safety, security, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other supervisors and management to implement initiatives aimed at improving store performance and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee inventory levels and collaborate with the receiving manager to ensure adequate stock levels of merchandise.
- Monitor product displays and signage to ensure compliance with company standards and promote sales.
Skills and Abilities:
- Previous experience in a retail supervisory role preferred.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in retail management is a plus.
- The candidate must interact effectively and professionally at all levels.
- Ability to assess and identify opportunities to advance KCGC’s mission.
Working Conditions:
- This role primarily takes place within a retail environment, which may include standing for long periods and interacting with customers and staff.
- Flexibility in scheduling is required to accommodate business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- The position may involve occasional lifting of objects or merchandise up to a certain weight limit.
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ retail experience, with grocery retail experience preferred.
- Proficiency in retail planning, budgeting, monitoring, and processes.
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Apple computer systems, and Skurlas of sale systems.
