KUIU's mission is to craft exceptional mountain hunting clothing and equipment. To achieve this, we rely on talented professionals like the Apparel Technical Designer. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our products meet customer expectations by developing product specifications, guaranteeing fit and pattern accuracy, and maintaining clear communication with vendors and factories.
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and adaptable, with excellent time management skills. Responsibilities include creating technical packages, measuring and analyzing garments, communicating pattern and construction corrections, developing blocks, and maintaining the pattern library.
- Develop and commercialize apparel products from initial development through TOP, ensuring they meet company standards for fit, performance, construction, and aesthetics.
- Document garment measurements, tolerances, grade rules, construction details, and additional technical requirements using KUIU's defined format for tech pack creation.
- Measure, fit, and evaluate construction on samples, providing written documentation, visual images, technical sketches, and pattern adjustments as needed to communicate detailed sample corrections.
- Identify pattern balance, fit, and quality issues, and clearly communicate instructions to resolve each issue by collaborating with technical counterparts at vendor/factory.
