SUMMARY
Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of customer projects for our Test equipment business by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate project engineers.
Projects will be related to specially designed test equipment for automotive and industrial propulsion systems such as engine test, transmission test, electric drive unit test, battery test, fuel cell test, or sub-components of those systems. Test systems may be designed for production validation or for laboratory testing and R&D.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Contract Review - Review Contract, Quote, Customer purchase order(s) and specifications.
- Project Kick-Off - Facilitate Job-Kick Off meeting after sale to all internal functional teams.
- Monitoring / Controlling
- Follows tasks defined in the Project Management Playbook and PM Roles and Responsibilities
- Understands and follows safety & environmental regulations and identifies safety / environmental concerns.
- Adheres to the Quality System and participates in continuous improvement.
CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS
Coordinate customer visitation and / or progress review meetings with KUKA departments.Facilitate the transfer of information / material as required by the various departments from the customer.Document open issues and action items and communicate with customers and KUKA functional teams as necessary.ENGINEERING
Schedule and chair a detailed equipment concept and proposal review meeting with Mechanical and Controls Engineering teams.Schedule and facilitate formal design review meetings between the customer's representatives and KUKA project team.Publish minutes establishing individuals responsible for corrective action when necessary. Assignment of follow-up responsibilities is to be made concurrently with respective team members.Schedule and facilitate the Engineering / Manufacturing turnover meeting and advise Manufacturing of any customer considerations, requests and specifications.SCHEDULING
Submit master schedule and reports to the customer in a timely manner.The project manager will develop and maintain the master schedule, milestone chart and critical path information.The project manager shall communicate any schedule changes to the customer.BUDGETS
Provide information to establish a budget.Monitor the work in progress weekly for comparison to the budget to project and ensure profit margin.The project manager should consult with department managers as necessary to improve project profitability without sacrifice of equipment design and performance integrity or violation of contract intent with the customer.Manages and controls engineering change notices (ECN's) in collaboration with the team members before presenting them to the customer.EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university and five to ten years related experience with industrial test equipment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Competence in controls and mechanical systems such as : industrial equipment design, machine control design, measurement and analysis, data acquisition and processing, 2D and 3D CAD systems, cause and effects, R&M, and FMEA.KUKA is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce.
