What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Custodian position at Kulanu Academy?
The custodian is responsible for keeping the locations clean, safe, functional, and secure in accordance with management standards.
Hours- 11AM – 7PM, Mon - Friday
General Responsibilities
A custodial worker must maintain the building in a state of operational excellence, presenting no interruptions, distractions, or obstacles to any programs or events. We are looking for an individual who can exercise sound judgment within their assigned areas of responsibility and work daily without immediate direction from the operations coordinator.
Janitorial
Perform various cleaning duties, such as vacuuming, sweeping, moping, dusting, cleaning mirrors and wiping tables/ desks. Clean, detail and re-stock paper products in restrooms. Remove and dispose of garbage and recycle items. Assist in set up and cleanup of programs and fund-raising events.
Maintenance:
Basic plumbing knowledge (i.e. repairs of leaking faucet, snaking drain lines). Have basic electrical knowledge (where the electrical panel is in each location, diagnosis of "no-power" situations). Must have experience in floor care, general carpentry, painting and plastering. Provide Inspection and maintenance services for all mechanical systems and vehicles.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is desired
- Clean NYS Driver's License a must
- Must have a vehicle
- At least 2 years' related experience
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Working Cell Phone with Email and Texting accessibility.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends for additional pay
Salary based on experience, starting at $18 per hour or $35000 annually.
