Criteria for promotion includes significant achievements in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. The award of tenure is based on potential for sustained contributions, performing beyond expected duties, and demonstrating leadership and innovation in activities that enhance the reputation of the University. The Clinical Scholar Track is for full-time faculty members who are heavily involved in clinical service, education, and related scholarship. This track has two career paths: Clinician-Educator concentrating on teaching and Clinician-Investigator for concentrating on research/scholarship. Significant contributions in professional and academic service are required for both paths. Job Description: The Division of Dermatology at KUMC is seeking board certified / board eligible academic general / medical dermatologists to join our expanding academic dermatology division. We have a busy academic clinical practice with a wide range of pathologies seen in the outpatient and inpatient setting. The Kansas University Hospital is a 1054 bed tertiary care hospital and the University of Kansas Cancer Center that is the only NCI-designated cancer center in the area. Kansas University transplant physicians perform over 300 hematopoietic stem cell transplants and 400 solid organ transplants each year. Required Qualifications: Education: Board Certified/Eligible in Dermatology. Preferred Qualifications: Experience: Clinical experience in Dermatology. Job Duties Outlined: Provide patient care in ambulatory clinic. Model best practices for diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and conditions. Complete appropriate documentation of patient encounters for medical follow-up and timely billing. Instruct medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical and classroom settings. Coach and guide learners appropriate to their educational level. Evaluate learner's progress. Contribute to various scholarly and research activities of the Division of Dermatology. Research could include clinical trials or investigator initiated studies. Participate in Division, Department, and School faculty activities as allowed by schedule constraints.
