Maintenance Technician (Logistics emphasis)
Kumho Tire Georgia (KTG), with its operations in Macon, Georgia, is the only United States tire manufacturing facility of Kumho Tire, a leading global tire manufacturing company dedicated to producing high-quality and innovative tires for a global market. With a state-of-the-art facility and a commitment to sustainability, KTG is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the continuous operation of our manufacturing plant.
Job Summary:
Multi-craft Maintenance Technician with emphasis on maintaining and repairing laser-guided vehicles (LGVs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs and maintenance as needed
- Perform electrical and software troubleshooting on laser-guided vehicles (LGVs) (Robotic Forklifts)
- Ensure optimal performance of automated equipment on-site
- Develop and report on equipment’s operational history and current status
- Work with manufacturer and suppliers to ensure system issues are communicated and resolved timely
- Collaborate and MEMT Engineers to determine the best practice for managing logistics machines
- Update older electrical systems for changes; cost reductions; improvements; safety and quality control
- Repair broken equipment and wiring
- Perform calibrations for wire placements and electronic components
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Implement best practices and recommend upgrades or modifications to enhance equipment reliability
- Act as a point of contact for maintenance-related emergencies and coordinate swift responses to minimize disruptions in the designated areas
Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a technician or apprentice or relevant work experience
- Understanding of hydraulic and electrical schematics is required
- Experience with electrical controls up to and including 480v
- Basic understanding of relay logic
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel
- Strong mathematical and technical skills
- Able to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficiently
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; works effectively with others
- Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge
- Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
- Demonstrates initiative to identify improvements and'or cost reduction
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work day'night shifts'hours as needed, work during facility maintenance shutdown periods and respond to on-call situations as required.
- Must report to work on a regular and consistent basis and meet performance expectations, including working safely and complying with company policies
