POSITION SUMMARY:
Will be responsible for seeing that all technical issues in production area are addressed in a timely manner in order to meet all customer quality and delivery requirements. Will also be responsible for assisting in mold changes, tooling area and act as a relief Floater when necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Responsible for supervising, training, and coordinating activities of process team leaders, material handlers and production associates
· Must ensure that all machines, molds and processes are capable of meeting customer quality/delivery requirements
· Responsible for the coaching and counseling of associates in their department
· Preparation of all required production reports
· Administers daily overtime for process team leaders or material handlers/Set Up/Production Associates
· Handles vacation requests and scheduling of vacation to attain adequate coverage
· Makes sure that all mold and color changes are done safely and efficiently to meet production planning schedule
· Responsible for time card approvals for all production associates in their department
· Completes performance evaluations for associates in their department as required by the company
· Responsible for ensuring injured workers receive proper and prompt medical attention following an accident causing injury
· Responsible that cycle standards are met and are consistent
· Responsible that scrap rates do not exceed expected level
· Meets with Process 10 -15 minutes before start of shift to review priorities and assignments for work schedule
· 5s principles must be a priority
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Prepare and present material at meetings to management and/or all associates
· Performs mold changes and color changes when needed
· Give associate breaks if necessary
· Check quality of product periodically to ensure customer requirements are being met
· Any other duties as assigned by Production Manager
· May be required to rotate shifts.
EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum 5 years experience at Supervisor level in manufacturing environment preferred
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Good computer skills a definite plus
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Good communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills
· Ability to stand, climb ladder onto machines, bending and stooping
· Satisfactory work record, including attendance
· Willingness to work overtime during the week and weekends when needed
· High degree of attention and care required to prevent injury to self and others
· Must have good mechanical ability
· Must be self starter with very minimal supervision from Manager
