What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grader/ Assistant Teacher position at Kumon Math and Reading Center?
Part-time help needed (approximately 7-8 hours/week).
Excellent for high school/college students OR someone looking to supplement a full-time income.
Pay is minimum wage for Mass. $14.25/hour
Must have good communication skills, comfortable with children, and be willing to be cross-trained.
Availability only on class days: Mondays/Thursdays/Saturdays late afternoons/evenings and early morning/early afternoon. Hours will most likely be from 3/4 p.m.-close (which is usually between 7 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.). And 10 a.m.-close (which is usually between 1-1:30 p.m.)
Kumon is an individualized after-school math and reading program that focuses on independence, speed, and accuracy. Many of our students are studying above grade level.
Our goal is to guide our students to the answers without telling them the answers or tutoring them.
Our youngest students require more of a hands-on approach, but there are never more than two students working with one assistant.
The instructor observes and guides students during class.
Assistants help to grade work, guide students (especially when the instructor is engaged with another student), work with younger students, and provide feedback to the instructor.
