Job Title: Vice Principal / Activities Director for the 2025/2026 School Year
Location: Kuna Middle School
Hours: Full Time
Salary: Placed on Administrative Pay Scale
Reports To: Principal

Purpose:
The Vice Principal is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the school, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment for students and staff. The Activities Director oversees and coordinates extracurricular activities, providing leadership and fostering worthwhile learning experiences for students through various school programs.
Qualifications:
Vice Principal:
- Valid Idaho Education Credential endorsed as School Principal Pre-K-12
- At least three (3) years of successful classroom teaching
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Special Education, Second Language Acquisition, Instructing Diverse Learners, Managing Behavioral Challenges, Working with Economically Disadvantaged Students, Specific Subject Content Areas
- Other qualifications as prescribed by the School Board
Activities Director:
- Previous experience as a coach is desirable
- Ability to develop activity schedules and demonstrate high-level communication and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of the operation of a school-wide activities program
- Valid Idaho driver’s license and a vehicle for job-related travel, with reimbursement at the state-approved mileage rate
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Vice Principal:
- Interpret and enforce district policies, ensuring due process for students regarding discipline and attendance.
- Coordinate programs for student success (e.g., Title 1, Special Education, ESL).
- Maintain student discipline and collaborate with students, teachers, and parents to promote a positive school environment.
- Serve as a liaison with law enforcement and social welfare agencies.
- Oversee the school’s emergency plan, crisis management, and security measures.
- Supervise school attendance programs and participate in the evaluation of school personnel.
- Participate in building and district committees and provide reports to the principal, district, and school board.
- Assume principal duties in the principal’s absence and oversee campus safety and emergency procedures.
Activities Director:
- Schedule, oversee, and coordinate all activities and programs as per district and school policies.
- Manage transportation for events and hire coaching staff.
- Conduct inventory management for equipment and uniforms.
- Oversee budget management and ensure proper allocation of funds for activities.
- Attend league AD meetings and manage event concessions.
- Communicate the activity program to the school community, faculty, students, and the media.
- Build positive relationships with the student body and evaluate all head coaches annually.
- Coordinate facility use and event logistics, including travel, preparation, and game management.
- Assist coaches with parent concerns and perform other duties as directed by the principal.
Physical Requirements:
Vice Principal:
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person or by phone.
- Sufficient vision to review and prepare documents and organize materials.
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and potentially supervise physical restraint or seclusion if necessary for safety.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, and lift up to 20 pounds, with the flexibility to perform various physical tasks.
Activities Director:
- Sufficient communication abilities to effectively engage with staff, students, and community members.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and reaching.
- Requires valid Idaho driver’s license and vehicle for transportation to job-related activities.
Evaluation:
- Vice Principal: Yearly evaluation by the supervisor.
- Activities Director: Yearly evaluation by the supervisor.
Terms of Employment:
Vice Principal: Employment terms are based on a 205-day calendar. Regular attendance is essential.
