Job Responsibilities:
- Install, program, and maintain access control systems, including card readers, biometric devices, and electronic locking hardware.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to access control systems.
- Perform routine system inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Collaborate with clients to customize and integrate access control solutions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of service calls, installations, and repairs.
- Train clients on system operation and troubleshooting procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards during all installations and repairs.
- Coordinate with team members and other trades to complete projects on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years working with access control systems (e.g., Kantech, Honeywell, Alarm.com, or similar platforms).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certifications are a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of low-voltage systems, networking, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software issues.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical schematics.
- Certifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., OSHA, BICSI, or manufacturer-specific credentials) are highly desirable.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various environments.
- Other: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Background check required.
