We have and exciting opportunity for a Design Project Manager to join our growing team. As the Design Project Manager, you are responsible for creating 20 designs and project budgets annually for all Kura projects consistent with Kura’s overall strategic development goals, while adhering to cost, schedule and operational requirements. This position reviews and analyzes due diligence information as the basis for developing the test fit plans, project budgets and timelines. This position manages the development process by working with consultants and coordinating with Real Estate, Construction Project Managers and Operations.
This role is a hybrid role. The selected candidate must be able to come to the office in Irvine, CA on in office days and as needed to carry out necessary functions of the role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Lead and manage the preconstruction, design and budgeting phases for all Kura construction projects, ensuring accurate cost estimates and resource allocation
- Manage projects efficiently through the pre-construction phase to ensure a timely and thorough handoff to the Construction Project Managers
- Review due diligence information from Real Estate Team and Landlords as the basis for developing test fits and site evaluation for budget and proforma to meet development goals
- Research and compile all project specifics including but not limited to site survey, SIR review, landlord work letter and permitting requirements in preparation for test fit plans
- Develop designs and test fit layouts, collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and contractors to ensure alignment across all teams
- Store designs must adhere to cost, schedule and overall strategic development goals and operational requirements
- Assist in reviewing construction documents with Construction Project Managers
- Lead with Construction Project Managers on millwork and furniture design and ordering to align with current brand direction
- Work with Construction Project Coordinator in coordinating Kura requirements with Landlords including utility requirements
- Assist Construction Project Coordinator and Construction Project Managers in FFE order accuracy
- Prepare budgets, estimates, and pre-bid packages for construction projects
- Identify, track and implement value engineering opportunities and proactively guide the design
- Assist Construction Project Managers in the management of landlord construction progress in preparation for Kura construction start date
- Act as an active contributor on the design to collaborate on new standards, national expansion strategies, prototype updates
- Work with Construction Project Managers on analyzing bid documents and understanding risks and opportunities
- Assist in problem solving to protect project pipeline goals and accurately represent Kura’s brand in all new stores based on current prototypes.
- Create and maintain design guidelines, support the development of design concepts, block plans and test fit plans based on program requirements
- Develops and manages budgets consistent with timeline requirements or renovation projects
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
PAY RANGE : $121,000 - $130,000 / yr. DOE.
Salary : $121,000 - $130,000
