Position Summary:
The QC Lab Analyst provides comprehensive analytical support to the Production Department through testing final product samples while ensuring all sample analyses adhere to established quality standards. The analyst calibrates laboratory instrumentation in accordance with company procedures, performs complex tests using specialized methods and equipment, and contributes to quality management activities. This role is essential in maintaining product quality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence within the DuPont Shift structure.
Responsibilities:
Laboratory Analysis & Testing
- Analysis of process samples
- Analyze the final product samples using specialized methods and equipment
- Evaluate reported results for consistency with the process
- Conduct non-routine sample testing using approved procedures and methodology
- Validate and interpret test data to verify specifications are met and identify remedial actions required to ensure conformance
- Troubleshoot questionable test results through analytical problem-solving
Equipment Management & Calibration
- Perform routine calibration of laboratory equipment according to established protocols
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
- Prepare tests and standardize laboratory instrumentation
Sample Management
- Manage and organize retain samples
- Prepare and ship samples to plant and other parties as necessary
- Maintain proper documentation of all sample processing activities
Operational Excellence
- Aid Lab Manager, Supervisor and Chemist in laboratory operations
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Understand and comply with regulatory, company, and departmental Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Follow the organization's health, safety, and environmental policies to identify and mitigate environmental risks
- Attend and participate in scheduled safety training, operational training, and employee meetings
- Understand and utilize SOPs and proper PPE when performing routine and required tasks
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required 3 years of laboratory experience focusing on polymers; OR
- Associate degree plus 1 year of laboratory experience focusing on polymers
- Experience in calibrating and standardizing laboratory instrumentation
- Hands-on experience with GC, ICP, Titration and polymer testing equipment
- Understanding of SAP, LIMS, and quality management systems
- Proficiency with standard office software and ability to prepare complex documents
- Experience in troubleshooting instrumentation and analytical methodologies
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.
