Internship Summary :
Kuraray's paid internship program allows students the opportunity to obtain valuable, applicable work experience in a fast-paced, and challenging environment. The program blends real-world experience with an extensive overview of the chemical industry. Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance as you gain professional hands-on experience. The internship will be 13 weeks in duration for the summer of 2025 with flexible start dates. Student interns must be able to work full-time.
The internship will be split between a major project and daily tasks.
No Housing will be provided as part of the internship.
The Supply Chain Intern will rotate through core supply chain functions during their internship : logistics operations, logistics procurement, and product management. Opportunities will include learning about the various roles and functions within supply chain, exposure to a variety of experienced supply chain professionals, and working with team members to accomplish function specific tasks and meet project deadlines. Assignments will be driven by current business needs at time of internship. The intern position will lay the groundwork for future careers by gaining real world experience in support of Kuraray's supply chain teams.
Responsibilities :
- Packaging Database Development : Create a centralized database for packaging specifications, including standardization of documents and qualified vendor details (contracts, pricing, ordering).
- Logistics & Storage : Document packaging dimensions, weights, roll / sheet sizes, units per container, trailer / container capacity, and stacking guidelines.
- Inventory Management : Identify returnable packaging, establish maintenance plans, and determine re-order points / order quantities to optimize inventory and reduce emergencies at the FW site.
- Rough Cut Supply Chain Planning (S&OP Process) :
Maintain and update master data for AspenTech rough cut production planning, including throughputs and BOMs by plant / product family.
