We are hiring a CAD Draftsman to support underground precast structure design for our direct client in San Marcos, TX. This role plays a crucial part in creating and maintaining technical drawings, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and sales teams to ensure high-quality project execution.
The CAD Draftsman will be responsible for utilizing CAD software to develop precise drawings and plans for construction and utility projects. This position requires strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and organizational skills to manage project documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop detailed CAD drawings using software such as ALLPLAN, AutoCAD, and Titan.
- Revise and maintain standard details for various projects, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Review and verify sketches, blueprints, and technical drawings before submission.
- Print and format CAD drawings for distribution to project managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Maintain an organized CAD drawing library, ensuring accessibility for internal teams.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to finalize project details.
- Interpret construction plans and utility designs for accurate technical drawings.
- Use MS Office Suite, Adobe, and Titan to manage project documentation.
- Keep project drawings updated to reflect latest revisions and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety guidelines, and client specifications.
- Provide administrative support by reviewing plans, performing take-offs, and preparing detailed project drawings.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in technical drawing, design, or engineering is preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, ALLPLAN, or Revit, with strong technical drawing skills.
- Ability to analyze design specifications and engineering sketches to produce accurate drawings.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or construction office support role is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to innovate.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, ensuring seamless collaboration across teams.
- Primarily an office-based role, with occasional site visits to production facilities.
- May require working in outdoor conditions, including hot or cold weather.
- Exposure to moving machinery, confined spaces, and a noisy environment.
- Physical demands include:
