A growing litigation frim is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal for its Denver, Colorado office. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with strong organizational and case management skills, looking to work in a fast-paced environment specializing in civil litigation and criminal defense.
The Litigation Paralegal will provide direct support to attorneys in all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial, managing complex document collections, assisting with discovery, and ensuring compliance with court procedures. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of civil and criminal procedures, e-filing, docketing, scheduling, and expert retention.
Key Responsibilities- Case Management: Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are properly saved and categorized.
- Discovery Support: Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including document production, interrogatories, and subpoenas.
- Legal Research & Drafting: Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, initial disclosures, expert disclosures, trial management orders, and affidavits.
- Deposition & Trial Preparation: Review and summarize deposition transcripts, assist in preparing exhibits, and manage trial materials.
- Client & Attorney Coordination: Act as a liaison between clients, attorneys, and opposing counsel, ensuring clear communication and timely responses.
- Deadline & Docket Management: Track and manage critical deadlines across multiple cases, ensuring timely filings and compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Litigation Technology: Utilize e-discovery and document management platforms (e.g., Egnyte, Slack, Office 365, Relativity) to assist attorneys in handling large-scale litigation.
- Investigations & Research: Conduct online legal research, including investigating opposing parties, prior litigation history, and social media activity.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of three years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm or legal department.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in legal software such as Egnyte, Slack, Office 365, and Relativity.
- Strong experience with e-filing systems, docketing, and case management platforms.
- Ability to manage large document collections and prepare trial exhibits.
- Legal Knowledge & Skills:
- In-depth understanding of civil and criminal procedures and court rules.
- Ability to draft motions, pleadings, subpoenas, and discovery responses with precision.
- Experience coordinating with experts, witnesses, and external legal professionals.
- Soft Skills:
