Overview Of Responsibilities
The Facilities Coordinator Internship involves coordinating projects, including creating scopes of work, generating budgets and estimates, acquiring bids and quotes, obtaining internal approvals, ensuring compliance with KJLC Safety Procedures, tracking costs, minimizing overruns, and closing out projects. Additional duties include supporting the Facilities Team, maintaining safe and functional building operations, managing your own work environment, and other related tasks as assigned.

The Facilities Coordinator Internship involves coordinating projects, including creating scopes of work, generating budgets and estimates, acquiring bids and quotes, obtaining internal approvals, ensuring compliance with KJLC Safety Procedures, tracking costs, minimizing overruns, and closing out projects. Additional duties include supporting the Facilities Team, maintaining safe and functional building operations, managing your own work environment, and other related tasks as assigned.
Key Job Elements
- Perform all aspects within the Facilities department
- Coordinate projects, with or without construction, involving internal team members and/or outside contractors
- Generate required documents to coordinate projects, including AutoCAD plans, spreadsheets, and other Microsoft products
- Keep stakeholders informed of project status, shutdowns, ICRA, and timeline changes
- Focus on safety during all projects
- Escort contractors as needed
- Contribute to company databases such as Continual Improvements & Preventive Maintenance and others
- Assist Facilities Team Members with duties as assigned by the Supervisor
- Assist with setting up rooms and outdoor areas for company functions, including furniture, food, and beverages
- Assist the Facilities leadership in creating and managing department documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work with others or individually to complete work tasks
- Strong team player with a good work ethic and attitude
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and lift up to 60 lbs. unassisted. Assistance is required for items over this weight
- Ability to organize and maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Products and AutoCAD
- Understanding and ability to read and generate standard Construction Documents, including plans, sections, details, and specifications
- Comfortable with inspecting and measuring building structures and systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
- Understanding of general building materials
- Local travel and overtime may be required
- Pennsylvania driver’s license
- 2 years of experience with AutoCAD
- 1 years of experience in building or facility maintenance
- Technical Degree with a focus on AutoCAD, Architecture, and/or Engineering
- Comfortable using measuring devices
