Position Summary:
As a Machinist Apprentice Trainer, you'll have the opportunity to train Machinist Apprentices the basics of machining using various machine shop equipment to create NIMS projects, including but not limited to the set-up and operation of manual machines, inspection of projects and computer numerical controls (CNC) machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.

Position Summary:
As a Machinist Apprentice Trainer, you'll have the opportunity to train Machinist Apprentices the basics of machining using various machine shop equipment to create NIMS projects, including but not limited to the set-up and operation of manual machines, inspection of projects and computer numerical controls (CNC) machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
Key Job Elements:
- Perform basic machining operations on manual machines, CNC machines and can read and teach G-code
- Knowledge and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance
- Follow instructions both verbal and written
- Train entry level machinist apprentice on how to produce quality products
- Follow KJLC shop safety standards
- Work with entry level machinist apprentice to solve problems and improve processes
- Proper use of cranes for overhead lifting
- Ensure timely compliance with Company workplace policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Required:
- Advanced mathematical skills to solve complex problems
- Ability to teach apprentices how to read and understand measuring devices
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and shop drawings
- Commitment to teaching proper procedures and safety protocols
- 8 to 15 years of on-the-job experience as a machinist
