The Production Controller ensures efficient job movement through the machine shop and coordinates necessary resources for production projects. They collaborate across the business to identify, assess and address potential delays, maintaining ERP milestone dates for on-time delivery. This role also involves project management responsibilities, including planning and executing production projects to ensure they meet business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Actively reviews job progress, identifies problem areas and provides guidance
- Collaborates with procurement to expedite raw materials and subcontracted parts to meet scheduled deliveries
- Partners with project management and shop floor supervisors to develop solutions that keep jobs on schedule
- Addresses questions and resolves issues related to specific project schedules
- Monitors non-conformances that could impact scheduled deliveries and expedites their resolution to keep jobs on track
- Analyzes scheduled versus actual completion dates to identify areas for improvement
- Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, including human resources and safety regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required
- Associate’s degree or minimum 5 years’ experience in machine shop scheduling
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
- Proficiency with scheduling software and Microsoft office products
- Ability to create and understand reports to make production decisions
Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a technical field
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX
