Behavior Specialist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
- Will provide intensive therapeutic services, consultation, and support to the student patients from the Chemawa Indian School. The primary focus will be in the area of substance abuse, addictions, and co-occurring disorders (prevention, treatment, and aftercare).
- Shall serve as one of the coordinators for all substance abuse activities within the Chemawa Student Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) within the Western Oregon Service Unit.
- Will work closely with Chemawa Indian School, Western Oregon Service Unit staff, and fellow Chemawa Student Behavioral Health Center staff in coordinating services to meet patient needs.
- Will provide case and program consultation for the development of comprehensive student behavioral health services.
- To provide case, program, and clinical consultation to staff at Chemawa Student Behavioral Health Center and other providers in order to ensure the quality of services.
- Act as a member of a multidisciplinary team for planning, implementing and directing therapeutic services and activities for youth, which stress the development of coping and decision-making skills.
- Behavioral Health Providers will be qualified either as Clinical Psychologists or Licensed Clinical Social Workers.
- Will accept any of the following licensure types for fulfill this need: Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor, LMFT, MWS, LCSW, or equivalent.
- A Clinical Psychologist will have a masters, doctoral, or equivalent degree from a psychology program accredited by the APA.
- Social Workers will have a Master of Social Work equivalent degree from a social work program accredited by the CSWE.
- Regardless of specialty type, the provider must have a clean, unrestricted, unlimited license in any State, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. Territory.
