The Community – Mescalero, New Mexico
The Mescalero tribe's mountainous lands present an abundance of exciting opportunities for outdoor adventures. Hunting, fishing, hiking, clay shooting, and biking opportunities are found throughout the area. During the winter, planned to slide down the slopes of Ski Apache. The Mescalero Apache owns and operates the end of the Mountain God's resorts and casino, which offers a first-rate golf course that recently garnered a top spot in golf digests' "top 40 casino golf course,” ranking number 23. The resort also operates the casino Apache and Ina Dah card room for those who like to partake in Las Vegas-style gambling. The Inn also hosts concerts by nationally known record recording acts. The drive recently opened the 50,000-square-foot casino Apache Travel Center on US 70 about a mile west of Ruidoso.

About the Facility – Mescalero Service Unit Behavioral Health Department
The Mescalero Service Unit is in Mescalero, Nm. This 13-bed Hospital provides both inpatient and outpatient services, supplemented by several fields of health programs, some of which are conducted by the Mescalero Tribe itself such as the following services: Laboratory, Radiology, Dentistry, Optometry, Outpatient Care, Inpatient Care, Diabetic clinic, women's Health clinic, Behavioral Health, and Pain Clinic.

Clinical Psychologist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

• The Clinical Psychologist shall provide assessment, diagnosis, psychotherapy, and pharmacotherapy utilizing a broad range of assessment and therapeutic resources as indicated in the specific needs of child, juvenile, and adult individuals and groups, and their families. Is responsible for the completeness and timeliness of diagnostic and therapeutic departments and maintenance of clinical and medical psychology professional standards of care for services and documentation.
• Shall provide crisis intervention to include initial assessment, diagnosis, and coordination of care, and may include coordinating admission in a psychiatric hospital for acute behavioral health intervention.
• Shall promote and preserve a psychotherapeutic atmosphere among the professional treatment staff, participate in developing treatment programs for patients, and advise and consult with all levels of professional staff concerning psychological characteristics and behavior changes of clients.
• Psychologist shall provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions for patients.
• Shall conduct psychological tests and function as an authoritative source of information for differentiating between organic and functional causes of emotional disturbances and or behaviors.
• Shall receive referrals from other healthcare professionals for specialty consultation and continued management of behavioral health conditions.
• The psychologist shall perform routine duties including providing behavioral health counseling, substance abuse counseling, and related mental health services to individuals eligible for services provided by the Client at the Mescalero Service unit.

Clinical Psychologist - REQUIREMENTS

• Shall maintain an active Psychologist licensure in the region or state of practice.
• Must have a current BLS certificate.
• Must be able to provide three professional references of the same degree.
• Must provide documentation that reflects immunity for the indicated vaccine preventable diseases through documented disease, vaccination history, serology results, and/or any documented episodes of adverse events after vaccination. This includes: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Influenza, Pertussis, and documentation of TB test within the last 12 months. If tested positive for the TB test, you must provide chest x-ray report of "no active TB disease" by provider evaluation.
