What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finishing: Material Handler position at KURZ Transfer Products?
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Efficiently move raw materials from storage to finishing machines and finished products from machines to shipping or storage.
- Safely operate pin lifts and forklifts to maneuver materials.
- Locate and store materials from deliveries (STO trucks and containers).
- Perform cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy and reinforce material traceability (ensuring materials are tracked in the system).
- Communicate effectively with finishing schedulers and machine operators to maintain efficient operation of finishing machines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Collaboration: Works independently. Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration.
- Communication: Collaborate clearly with operators, helpers, and team members to ensure smooth production flow in person and via email.
- Project management: Ability to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities and ensure efficient workflow.
- Quality control: Possess a keen eye for detail and the ability to distinguish colors precisely to conduct thorough quality inspections.
- Safety compliance: Demonstrate a commitment to safety by adhering to OSHA standards. Maintains focus in potentially hazardous environments.
- Physical abilities: Meet the physical demands of the role, including static pull strength of 84 lbs., push 60 lbs., lift 50 lbs. Mount/dismount a sit-down forklift.
- Technical skills: Possess basic computer skills to operate production related software and maintain digital records. Forklift knowledge (stand-up and sit-down) Proficiency in using a portable scanner.
- Continuous improvement: Maintain a process optimization
Experience and Education
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years (Material Handling) Forklift experience
- Manufacturing Experience preferred.
- Familiarity with SAP/Microsoft Office is a plus.
