About the Facility - Uintah and Ouray Health Center
Leave the hazards of urban life behind and apply your skills to a wide scope of health care. This ambulatory 40-hour facility is staffed by physicians, physician's assistants, nurse practitioners, and dental, optometry, and psychology providers. They provide comprehensive public health services including general medical, surgical follow-up, pediatric, prenatal, and postpartum care. Dental, behavioral health, and optometry services are also available. Other clinical specialties are provided by visiting consultant and are scheduled periodically. Patients requiring more complex medical care are referred to the hospital or other contract facilities.

Licensed Practical Nurse - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
- The Licensed Practical Nurse provide patient education.
- Carry out physician devices such as respiratory and electrocardiograph machines and other medical equipment and supplies.
- Manage therapeutic devices such as respiratory and electrocardiograph machines and other medical equipment and supplies.
- Measure and assess vital signs, height, weight, and neurological status, visual acuity and hearing.
- Screen patients for alcohol dependence, depression, etc.
- Collaborate and coordinate patient care with other health care providers.
- The Licensed Practical Nurse perform quality control for capillary blood glucose monitoring checks, fridge temperature checks etc.
- Collect or assist in collection of lab specimens where applicable.
- Recognize life-threatening emergencies, initiate and maintain resuscitation measures and other emergency procedures as appropriate to the situation.
- Recognize adverse reactions to medications, treatments and procedures and initiate interventions as appropriate to the situation.
- The Licensed Practical Nurse answer and screen telephone calls, take off and initiate medical orders.
Licensed Practical Nurse - REQUIREMENTS
Licensed Practical Nurse must have an active, unrestricted, and free of disciplinary action license as a licensed practical nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
