A 16 physician staff sees medical, obstetrical, pediatric, and surgical patients. Nurse Practitioner : RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
- The Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patient problems, including the prescription of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- Scope of practice includes advanced nursing patient assessment and diagnosis.
- Conducts advanced practice registered nursing based on knowledge and skills acquired throughout nursing education, training, and experience.
- The Nurse Practitioner orders diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures, performs tests and procedures using healthcare equipment, and interprets and uses the results of diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures ordered by the advanced practice registered nurse or another healthcare professional.
- Authorizes treatments, orders or applies appropriate medical devices, and utilizes nursing, medical, therapeutic, and corrective measures to treat illness and enhance health status.
- Provides palliative and end-of-life care.
- The Nurse Practitioner delivers advanced counseling, patient education, health education, and patient advocacy.
