CDL A Tow Truck operator

Kustom Diesel Towing is looking to hire an experienced Tow Truck Operator to join our team. We will require you to operate any one of our company vehicles, assisting our clients with breakdowns and accidents. Please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications. While this is our ideal list, we will consider candidates that do not necessarily have all of the qualifications, but have sufficient experience and talent.

This position is a Commission-only position, not an hourly

Tow Truck Operator Responsibilities:

• Receive communications from the company regarding the recovery
• Ability to understand geography, street mapping and GPS locations
• Successful completion of criminal background check, motor vehicle record, drug screen and DOT physical
• Safely operate the tow truck, equipment and all accessories
• Hook and tie down vehicles for transportation
• Transport vehicles to required destinations
• Keep track of time and transports for billing
• Makes proper notations regarding vehicles and condition pre and post recovery/tow
• Reporting to the office and completing all necessary paperwork
• Rotating on-call duties for 24-hour coverage
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and driving laws
• Passion for helping people and exceeding their expectations while displaying strong ethics, courtesy and professionalism

Tow Truck Operator Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and electrical systems
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Good communication skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Must be detail oriented and accurate in work assignments
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and interpret road maps
• Ability to pass a physical examination required by the Department of Transportation (DOT Card Required) and maintain the certificate for the duration of employment in the position
• Must be able to pass drug testing for DOT compliance
