Job Summary
Kutak Rock LLP seeks an experienced attorney to join our Kansas City office’s Public Finance Practice. This dynamic role is ideal for an experienced attorney with interest in expanding their knowledge and skills in commercial real estate and finance transactions while developing direct relationships with established firm clients.

Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate a wide variety of transaction documents, including leases and other real estate related documentation, general contracts, purchase, and sale agreements
- Prepare, negotiate, and review loan and security documents
- Conduct financing transaction due diligence such as organizational documents, title and survey, grant agreements and other diligence review
- Advise and counsel clients on real estate matters, including lending, finance, and/or leasing transactional practices
- Manage regulatory and compliance related services ensuring that appropriate approvals are in place before transactions are executed
- Conduct real estate and lending closings
- Review and draft organizational documents
- Interpret laws rulings and regulations in relevant areas of the law
- Demonstrate commitment to achieving the goals of Firm clients
QUALIFICATIONS: Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of state and federal laws regarding the ownership and sale of real property
- Proficient in real estate finance and asset-based finance transactions
- Understanding of various business entities
- Strong organizational and matter management skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of title and survey review and other real estate/finance diligence documents
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to apply critical thinking and possess a high attention to detail
- Work professionally and collaboratively with partners, associates, and support staff
- Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills
- Self-motivated and proactive with a strong work ethic
- Ability and confidence to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, team environment
- Strong desire to learn and develop superior drafting and negotiating skills
QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience
- Must be currently admitted to practice in Kansas and Missouri with an active bar license in good standing or able to be admitted to both within the first year of employment
- Five or more years’ experience working with state and local governments, investment banks and institutional lenders, or other providers of capital in connection with tax-exempt financings and/or commercial real estate finance transactions required
Position Information
Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $150,000-$190,000 annual base salary, commensurate with education and experience
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
