WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will support the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Nuiqsut corporate office. The AGM will assist with managing personnel, coordinating activities across departments, and ensuring compliance with company standards. This role is designed to help the General Manager ensure smooth operations and serve as a point of contact in their absence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily activities in the Nuiqsut office to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
- Serve as the secondary point of contact for all Nuiqsut office operations, maintaining communication with headquarters, vendors, and partners.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising Nuiqsut office personnel, except those directly managed by the General Manager.
- Work alongside the General Manager to manage field personnel, including Subsistence Representatives and Ice Road Monitors.
- Coordinate any required certifications or testing for employees, such as HazMat and drug testing.
- Support the scheduling of Nuiqsut office personnel and manage time-off requests.
- Assist with the planning, implementing, and evaluating operational policies and strategies.
- Help ensure all operations adhere to company policies and relevant industry standards, including safety and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with the General Manager.
- All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong Community and Cultural Knowledge: Familiarity with the Nuiqsut community and its unique needs.
- Ability to step in and lead the team without the General Manager.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and resolve conflicts as they arise.
- Proactive in identifying operational issues and finding solutions.
- Solid understanding of operations management.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate the facility and surrounding areas.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
- Occasional travel required
