Kuukpik Corporation was established in 1973 under the provisions of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA). It owns the surface rights to portions of the Colville River Delta, located 50 miles west of Prudhoe Bay.
Kuukpik Corporation successfully negotiated a comprehensive surface-use agreement. This agreement established provisions for education, training, preferences in contracting, employment, and the environment for the village of Nuiqsut.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
The KOS Assistant General Manager supports the Development and Operations Manager in driving the growth and operational success of Kuukpik Oilfield Services (KOS). The Assistant Manager will assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building client relationships, supporting operational activities, and ensuring alignment with the companys strategic goals. The role provides a hands-on learning experience in business development, contract negotiations, and operational oversight while fostering relationships within the oil and gas industry and with community stakeholders in Nuiqsut. This individual will collaborate closely with the Development and Operations Manager and internal teams to achieve KOSs financial and growth objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operational Support :
o Provide assistance in overseeing KOS field operations and subcontracted activities to ensure alignment with business objectives.
o Collaborate with project teams to support the execution of approved contracts and fieldwork.
o Foster strategic partnerships and represent KOS at industry events and forums.
o Work closely with the Development and Operations Manager to develop skills in networking, business development, contract negotiation, and operational management.
o Participate in mentorship and training opportunities to prepare for a leadership role.
o Support the development of metrics for contract acquisition, revenue growth, and client satisfaction.
o Assist in preparing reports and updates for senior management on business development and operational activities.
o Engage with community leaders and stakeholders in Nuiqsut to align growth initiatives with local priorities and values.
o Build and maintain relationships with clients, industry partners, and community stakeholders.
Business Development :
o Manages and aids in the analyzing, planning, research, and development of organizations objectives and strategic plans in order to achieve business opportunities, growth, and financial profitability.
o Oversees and contributes to the development and research of identifying potential new markets and business opportunities, increasing share of market, and obtaining a competitive position in various industries.
o Develops plans to achieve growth and financial profitability via acquisitions and mergers.
o Administers company strategic plans.
o Support the execution of business development strategies to enhance revenue and diversify service offerings.
o Assist in the preparation of project proposals, including scope, schedule, and budget assessments.
o Participate in contract negotiations and learn to assess and mitigate potential risks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Strong interest in business development and operational management.
Developing networking and communication skills.
Ability to learn and apply negotiation and strategic thinking techniques.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to personal and professional growth.
Basic knowledge of the oil and gas industry is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
At least one year of experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
Moderate travel is required for networking, client meetings, and operational support.
