Job Description
The Quality Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of the various development and production validation tests needed to ensure the quality and performance of Kuva's hardware products. The successful applicant will have a very strong technical background with exceptional organizational, project planning and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Adopt and further develop and implement the Kuva Quality Assurance and measurement program to support in-house manufacturing and eventual transition to a contract manufacturer
- Work with product designers to establish procedures for design validation as well as production testing
- Gather information, validate and report on quality related metrics and activities such as MTTF / FIT, useful life analysis, design margin analysis, AFMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA and component validation
- Take a hands-on approach to the design and validation of assembly fixtures and test equipment for both prototypes and production products to ensure we meet Kuvas quality targets
- Coordinate with the Production, Field Operations and Engineering teams to detect, diagnose and remediate field failures and production quality issues to ensure all products meet operational specifications and quality requirement
- Conduct product specification validation, including electrical requirement testing, temperature range validation, water / moisture ingress protection as well as protection against other environmental factors
- Lead the Quality Review Board process to drive continuous improvement efforts
- Manage supplier quality relations, including validating and approving new vendors

Candidates need to be based in the Cambridge, MA office and onsite at our manufacturer in Westborough MA as needed. Some work from home / remote for part of the week (1 day per week) is possible.
