As an Azure Cloud (Infrastructure) Engineer, you will be responsible for collaborating on design, development, and maintenance of reliable, scalable, and efficient cloud-based environments using Microsoft Azure with a combination of PaaS and IaaS resources. You will work closely with development teams to understand application requirements, design and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. In addition, you will be instrumental in helping the company transition to an Agile development methodology by teaching and coaching staff on Agile principles, DevOps / Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices.
Your role will involve a combination of technical expertise, architectural design, engineering and hands-on implementation to ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and performance of cloud resources.

What You'll Do
- Cloud Solution Architecture & Engineering: Collaborate with development teams to design and implement cloud-based systems that meet business goals. Provide technical leadership in designing scalable, reliable, and cost-effective solutions using Azure cloud services.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates, such as Bicep, Terraform, ARM templates, or Pulumi to automate the provisioning and management of Azure resources including virtual machines, networking components, storage, and security features. Implement best practices for versioning, testing, and automated deployment of IaC templates.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Implement and manage Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps. (Experience with other CI/CD tools such as Github Actions is beneficial) Automate the deployment of infrastructure changes and applications to Azure cloud environments, ensuring reliability and security.
- Site Reliability Engineering Concepts: Build and maintain reliable and scalable cloud systems with a focus on high availability, fault tolerance, and performance. Implement monitoring and observability solutions to proactively detect and resolve issues. Continuously improve the reliability of systems by analyzing and addressing root causes of incidents.
- Work with teams to develop and implement standard practices around SLIs, SLOs so that SLAs can be met and reported on.
- Help to develop DR practices that account for RTOs and RPOs.
- Observability: Implement monitoring / alerting tooling such as Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics and /or have experience with tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or ELK.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure that Azure cloud solutions comply with industry standards / compliance frameworks and security best practices collaborating with the Kuvare Security & Risk teams. Must have experience implementing / managing security features such as Entra, RBAC, PIM & PAM, NSG, and Azure Firewall. Monitor and audit cloud resources for security vulnerabilities and implement remediation measures.
- Containers/ Kubernetes: Experience with Containers / Kubernetes is preferred
- Experience designing Azure environments and resources which include: Networking components, storage, Entra ID, App Services,
- Experience creating templates to deploy Azure resources utilizing IAC tools- BICEP
- Experience with Azure private networking components.
- Experience documenting systems and configuration.
- Experience creating and maintaining PowerShell, Python, YAML, BICEP or other scripting languages for environment management.
- Insurance industry experience preferred but not required.
