The Associate, Investment Operations, works on issues of limited scope, following established practices and procedures in analyzing cash and asset positions reconciliations per portfolio. The Associate must have full knowledge of the department’s functional responsibility. The Associate is expected to participate in decisions around functional projects and process improvements.

About the role
- The Associate, Investment Operations Recon is responsible for the daily cash and asset reconciliations posting on the Aladdin application. The Associate will work closely with the investment teams, back-office internal departments, and external counterparties.
- Knowledge of the trade life cycle and responsible for accurate and timely completion of assigned asset and cash reconciliations that consist of reconciling custodian and accounting records to the Aladdin application
- Identify and investigate exceptions within established time parameters.
- Escalate and work closely with Trading Desk, Investment Accounting, Treasury, and Custodian banks to ensure timely resolution of exceptions.
- Ability to effectively manage, research/resolutions/follow-ups for closure of open items, cash and position breaks.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as the Trading Desk, Portfolio Analysis, Investment Accounting, Tax, and Legal to support cross-functional initiatives and to optimize operational processes.
- Frequent interaction with management and directors using an effective communication style.
- Maintains documentation and support for any cash or position changes, regulatory, transfer and Internal Audit requests.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor degree with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- 5 years’ experience in financial services operations, preferably in insurance industry.
- Experience with systems related to area of responsibility (Bloomberg, Aladdin, and Bank Portals required).
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Solid analytical skills and attention to detail required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with key partners and business leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a tight timeframe; excellent organizational and planning skills needed.
