Position Summary :
- Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT) provide compassionate care to and supervision of youth placed in residential care. BHT’s are responsible for supervising youth at all times and ensuring their basic needs are met. They assist youth with daily living skills, activities and responsibilities by modeling positive behavior and effective problem-solving techniques. It is the responsibility of the BHT to adhere to KVC policies and other regulatory standards as required.

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) from an accredited high school.Preferred Experience / Skills :
Experience working with children, adults and / or families in behavioral health setting or related field focused on serving individuals through the use of trauma informed and person-centered approaches. Experience with carrying out treatment interventions, supporting activities of daily living and facilitating social-emotional skill building with individuals or groups is preferred.Licensure / Certification :

Supervise youth at all times to ensure basic needs are being met; assists with completion of daily living responsibilities; models positive behavior and effective problem solving techniques.Ensures the environment is safe and that no harm is brought to youth by themselves, another youth, staff or anyone outside the agencyMaintain the building and the outside premisesProvides transportation for youth to appointments as needed and directedAttends monthly staff meetingsAttends and completes all required in-service training and coursework on an annual basis per agency requirementsAttend monthly supervision and weekly treatment meeting as directedObtains approval from the House Manager or above for Agency use or overtime. Tracks Agency use and notifies House Manager.Ensures house is cleaned during each shift, appropriate documentation is completed, and shift checklists are checked off.Ensures critical incidents are reported to appropriate parties timely and documentation is completed prior to shift end.Monitors Medication Administration Records each shift to ensure medication was dispensed appropriately and all mediation is accounted for.Ensures appropriate Admissions paperwork is completed at time of Admission and provides needed documentation to Wellness Coordinator for development of treatment plan.Benefits :
